It is Friday. Thank God.

Friday, 4.15pm.

As for second entries, the follow up to the original must be a good one. Hehe.
It is like making a worthy sequel to a hit movie. How many worthy sequels can you name? Most follow ups are lacking in storyline and character development, depending on action and special effects to carry the movie through. It is an easy dollar for Hollywood studios and the actors that headline the movie. But I digress... I will try to make this an interesting second attempt.
Upon my ears are headphones, and through them, I hear the heavenly sounds of Pachelbel's Canon in D. A canon, according to Dictionary.com is 'a composition or passage in which a melody is imitated by one or more voices at fixed intervals of pitch and time'. For all those musically inclined, perhaps you would be so kind as to enlighten me on this. Why is this piece called 'Canon'? So many questions.
Speaking of music, I was watching American Idol yesterday. It was the first of three weeks of performances before the actual event begins. The boys were performing. I had watched the girls' performances the evening before and was pleasantly surprised at some of them. The boys' are another kettle of fish. Music varied from soulful sounds to rock themed songs to crooning and it was quite a mess actually. I enjoyed some but most of the performances were average and even the ones that were supposedly good were um, average. I guess it takes time. But at this point, looks like it will be the girls. I wonder was the criteria is for an American Idol. It is difficult to say entirely based on appearance, not always on strength of voice and entertainment value. Popularity seems to play a big part. Well, the weeks will tell.
I am looking forward to the weekend though. A chance to get much needed rest and to try to ponder over what has happened the past week, a chance to catch up with my Bible reading and work. A chance to take things a little slower, to listen for God's whispers.
Hopefully the joys of the weekend will elevate just as the violins do in Pachelbel's piece.
God bless you.
